Mental Health Hospital Chaplaincy

For almost five years now, Dennis Tattam has been carrying out chaplaincy to the General Wards of both the Nowra and Shoalhaven hospitals involving visitation, counselling, palliative care, administering the Sacraments, performing funerals, weddings and memorial services, and connecting with extended families. 

Dennis sees that his work is initially being with people, who are suffering from some type of mental illness. By supporting them with encouragement and listening to their story, he is able to walk their journey with them, exploring other dimensions of their problems, and sometimes challenging their behaviours.
