CareWorks NSW - About Us

The Stepping Stone
Pathways Community Church
CareWorks NSW is the Welfare and Community Ministry division of Churches of Christ in NSW (www.freshhope.org.au).

CareWorks NSW is a body established by the Conference of the Churches of Christ in NSW for the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness in the community (benevolent relief).

CareWorks NSW head office, based in Rhodes, forms partnerships with local Churches that want to undertake relevant and sustainable community based projects. We therefore form the auspicing body for these projects to seek and receive government funding and provide a legal framework for them to operate within. We have been operating projects across NSW since about 1970.

CareWorks NSW manages a large range of community based projects including: a crisis centre for women and children, homeless street feeds, drop in centres, counselling centres, foodbanks, op shops - and now chaplaincies for prison, aged care, and childcare. Every year we also fund emergency and disaster relief efforts.

CareWorks NSW mission is "lives being transformed through vibrant communities of fresh hope".

As you read through this website you will notice a significant emphasis on Church Partnerships.  CareWorks aims to see this area of the ministry grow not only in the number of projects but in the impact they make in their communities and the lives of people they serve into.
