The River Community Church

The River Community Church

The River Project has been established to setup and provide community support services to marginalised people in the Albury and surrounding areas of Albury including – Lavington, Springdale Heights, North Albury and South Albury as well as regional towns within commuting distance of Albury.

Based out of The River Community Church these activities are focused on the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness in the form of:

·         The River Food Share provides fresh and packaged food parcels

·         The River Op Shop provides clothing

·         Bread of Life co-ordinates volunteers for the Food Share, collects bread for distribution to families and other community centres and provides budget assistance and training to assist people out of poverty, suffering and distress.

The River Project involves over 20 volunteer workers.

A vital part of the community, The River Community Church provides a place of solitude and security to many people in the community, whether it is for a quick cuppa and a chat or a place to source some much needed groceries, financial assistance, or counseling, The River Community Church is a place of safety and relationship where people can find a helping hand.

In the near future we are relocating our Op Shop to a larger area of our existing premises and then developing a Cafe in the old Op Shop which will provide a meeting place, good quality food and beverages at discounted prices.
