About Us

CareWorks NSW is the Welfare and Community Ministry arm of Churches of Christ in NSW (www.freshhope.org.au).

CareWorks NSW is a body established by the Conference of the Churches of Christ in NSW for the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness in the community (benevolent relief).

CareWorks NSW head office, based in Rhodes, forms Partnership Projects with local Church and groups that want to undertake relevant and sustainable community based projects. We therefore form the auspicing body for these projects to seek and receive government funding and provide a legal framework for them to operate within. We have been operating projects across NSW since about 1970.

CareWorks NSW mission is "To serve into and support local churches, ministries and people across Churches of Christ in NSW to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to individuals, families and the wider community".

CareWorks NSW manages a large range of community based projects from a crisis centre for women and children, homeless street feeds, drop In, counselling, foodbanks, financial counselling, op shops, resource centre, early intervention project with DoC's, emergency and disaster relief.

As you read through this website you will notice a significant emphasis on Church Partnerships.  CareWorks aims to see this area of the ministry grow not only in the number of projects but in the impact they make in their communities and the lives of people they serve into.
